The intent of this page is to serve as a repository for useful information on the Bren Light Machine Gun, including frequently asked questions, accessories for the Bren, and technical information. It will probably take more than a year to accumulate sufficient information to become a known authority on the subject, but that is my eventual goal. The content will also be focused from the U.S. NFA firearms perspective, for owners and enthusiasts of legal, live NFA firearms in the U.S. All NFA Rule Apply! If you have information you would like me to include, please contact me at dalbert@sturmgewehr.com, and I will consider your material for inclusion. I want this to be a collaborative effort, with a lot of input from board members. If your information or image(s) are used, your name will be credited. The page will be organized as follows: 1. Bren Light Machine Gun Frequently Asked Questions 2. Bren Accessories 3. Bren Helpful Hints and Technical Information Bren Light Machine Gun Frequently Asked Questions 1. Other Bren Accessories Canadian Army Bren LMG and No. 4 Rifle Representative Target (1942): This is a curious item from my collection. It is a Canadian 4-foot representative target that is intended for use in training with the No. 4 Rifle, and the Bren LMG. I'm seeking further information about its use, and believe that information can be found in appendices (supplements) C, D, and E of CAMT 7-40, which is a Canadian military manual. "Mk VII" on the board sent me the following information about the Bren Representative Target: These are made for use on 25-yd no-danger-space ranges and are supposed to be the same proportions as the full-size one would be at the full distance. Because the Bren sights are offset from the bore line one can expect the shots from a properly zeroed gun to impact in the false scoring circle at this short range. Other targets of this type exist and I recall seeing them in the target cupboard on the rimfire range at school. http://www.sturmgewehr.com/dalbert/MGBoards/Bren/RepTarget_Web.JPG David Albert Collection Bren LMG Helpful Hints 1.
