MrBill
Will all 1918 model BAR's transfer on a form 4 to a C&R license holder? I seee that on the Machine Gun Values site they have two different price graphs for BAR's. one is designated C&R? I thought they were all C&R eligible. RoscoeTurner
Some were manufactured with non original production receivers such as Group Industries after 1968 and prior to 1986, while transferable they are not C&R.https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/70/3437/group-industries-1918a2-class-iiinfa-fully-automatic-bar
MrBill
Roscoe thanks but now I am really confused. A little while ago Reuben Mendolia posted on Sturm a "Group Industries 1918a2 BAR" that he claimed was C&R eligible....add# 00229....Are some group industries guns C&R eligible? Second question Now on Gunbroker Pathos3 has a Ramo 1918A2 listed for sale #771724956 that he claims is new and unfired. Opening bid on last auction was 20K which i bid and I emailed Pathos to ask if he would reveal the reserve and boy did i get a response, he carried on about how Ramo was the best and should be in a museum and he would not take less than 80K. Any thoughts or opinions?
RoscoeTurner
I was only using Group Industries as an example of a non original type receiver. Reviewing the C&R list I see only one Group Industries BAR listed as C&R, the one Ruben is offering for sale, serial number 00229 which is listed on page 46 of the BATF C&R book. This single Group Industries BAR being C&R does not infer other Group Industries BARs are also C&R eligible.Page 46-51 covers NFA firearms.https://www.atf.gov/resource-center/docs/p-5300-11-firearms-curios-or-relics-listpdf-0/downloadRAMO BARs may be good ones but they will never be worth more than an original receiver BAR as far as I am concerned.
