Interesting! I have a bnz 41 MP40 from the same letter block with a slightly lower serial number. It's in identical condition. Thankfully, it was registered during the '68 amnesty.

The barrel has an MP40 front sight block with the MP40 muzzle nut.
The MP38 had a front sight mount with the fitting for the spring loaded muzzle cap.
So, it is not a complete MP38 kit.

The MP38 receiver has also been cut for the sliding bolt safety, but the mismatched bolt is of the early hook type.

In this case none of 3D-Arsenal's bids are any good. The next highest bidder, thejd, can be offered a second chance at $7,000, which he is free to decline.
