6086
I followed a link from another board to catch up on the "Midas" nonsense. I'm the lucky guy who owns #6086, a 1921AC formerly owned and operated by the Montana State Prison at Deer Lodge and Powell County (MT) Sheriff. I purchased it in 1998. The rare parts (actuator, bolt assy, original foregrip and stock) have been removed and replaced with a Richardson replica actuator, a Savage bolt, and "beater" wood. It's still set up as a 1921AC, and I run it at local subgun matches or whenever I feel the need to operate a well-made machine. It ain't a wall hanger, that's for sure. I'll do my best to be at the next Western Shoot. I'd like to visit with other Thompson owners and show off a bit. Will any of you be at the SAR show in Phoenix in December? Randy Lish
6086, I will be there at the December S.A.R. Show in Phoenix. I have been going to them for the past 3 years and they are a terrific event! I do know that Gordon Herigstad ( Geneologist of Colt 1921 serial numbers ), Merle Bitikofer ( the Drum Doctor from Oregon ) and Murray Willis ( all the way from New Zeland for a 2nd year in a row ) will be there. I do not know if Doug Richardson will be there, but he has been at the past two shows and hopefully he'll be at this one again! I also know that Stan Andrewski is planning on making it this year too. Frank Iannamico is usually there and a very gracious person to visit with on the topic of Thompsons. It is a great time and there are a lot of things to see & buy while your'e there............. Murray
Randy, I had an e-mail from Doug in which he said that he hoped to be at the SAR show this year. I will be driving up from LA with Gordon after recovering from my 14 hour overnight flight from New Zealand. You are correct about Meale and also Chuck Olsen, another Thompson specialist will also be there. Should be "a great time for Thompson" Thanks for the info on the dates. Regards Murray. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
Randy Lish
Murray, Glad to assist you !!!! I forgot to post the dates of the S.A.R. ( Small Arms Review ) Show are December 5th - December 7th at the Arizona State Fair Grounds in Phoenix, Arizona. When I spoke to the folks at S.A.R. the other day, they said it will be in an building complex area that is across the street and separate from the Crossroads of the West Gunshow ( which will be going on at the same time ) and that it will be much bigger than last year's show. Hope to meet & see many of you folks that post here at that show!!! Best Regards Randy
