John in IN
Looking for original 9mm bolts, magwell adapters and barrels for both M3 and M3A1. I know they are not common but if anyone has anything laying around I would be interested in buying. PM me if you have anything. Thanks, John

John in IN
I know, I hear ya. You never know what someone may have stashed away and ready to turn into $$$. The mag adapter is hard to find, so that's good you have that anyway. I modified an Indy Ord barrel to be "mil spec" so to speak, so it's compatible with an original 9mm bolt. Blanksguy
John,What did you have to do to modify the Ind.-Ord. Barels to be "mil spec" (?).I would like to set up my early "Guide" M3 into firing 9x19mm with a "9mm-kit". Regards, RichardSUS Army, RET
John in IN
Richard, The Indy Ord. barrel is designed to work with his bolt, but his bolt is not at all like the original 9mm bolts were. The original Guide designed bolt has a much deeper bolt-face than the Indy Ord. so the barrel depth ( in relation to the nut/collar) had to be adjusted to work properly. The first picture shows the difference between the Indy Ord. 9mm barrel as received on the left vs. my modified Indy Ord. barrel on the right. I guess he assembles different batches different ways. Luckily my barrel looked like it was peened with a center punch, applied Locktite and pushed into the barrel nut. The one on the left looks to be more properly pinned in place. We were able to easily push the barrel deeper into the nut, and once it was positioned properly, my machinist buddy welded it in place (picture 2). Blanksguy
John,Could you post some clear photos of the 9mm-Bolt-Assemblies that you have (?)…...and let us know if they are original and/or Ind.-Ord. so that I/we can see the differences. Also, I see Ind.-Ord's Mag-Well-Adaptor......does anyone have clear photos of both the Ind.-Ord Mag-Well-Adaptor and an "original" adaptor ….possibly side-by-side (?). I am also looking for these 9mm-conversion parts....possibly someone that couldn't get their M3/M3A1 running with 9mm...….(?). John in IN
Here's the Indy Ord. 9mm bolt on the left vs. original Guide 9mm bolt (RIA manufactured) on the right. I think Indy Ord. may have used a standard .45 M3 bolt as a pattern and just made it in 9mm. They sure didn't model it after an original 9mm bolt. Edit: the 2nd picture doesn't want to format properly. The Indy Ord. bolt is on the bottom; Guide on top John
