Normal1959
Just picked up what looks to be USMC 1911 holster. Found a similar example online claims to be WW1 USMC Cuba.No idea at all about this.Any comments?Eric
Sandman1957
The holster is pretty beat up, but the EGA is worth at least 50 dollars by itself. Good score.
TSMGguy
Yeah, to Marines, anything with US on it reeks of US Army, so the EGA hat device got strategically user attached to this holster. This is otherwise a typical WWI-WWII M1912 dismounted 45 hip holster. Is any portion or the original maker mark or date still visible?

Looks like it was faked at some point in it's life upon closer inspection. Seems like someone even tried to stamp BOYT in it but did a poor job. I got it in a package deal. If somebody wants to donate $50 to this website I will send them the holster with free shipping. Since it's not original, it does not fit my collection.Eric Edited March 5, 2019 by Normal1959

Big Al
This is otherwise a typical WWI-WWII M1912 dismounted 45 hip holster. The holster is actually an M1916. The M1912 had an extended hanger assembly and came in mounted and dismounted flavors. M1912 dismountedM1912 mounted Back to the main topic of discussion, I for one am always suspicious of combined items like this without solid proof of its authenticity. Marine Corps items command a much high price over similar Army gear. While it very well could be genuine, bear in mind that there is also the possibility that someone bought the holster and EGA as surplus and put them together.
