USMC H&R M14, Photos

I hang out mostly on the Thompson forums but thought I would post a few pics of one of the couple of M14s we have in the armory for the color guard. As you can see the only demil is some solder on the bolt face and a rod jammed in the barrel. Rifle appears in excellent shape. I doubt this rifle saw much use. The Marine holding the rifle is one of the units Armorers. He is GTG, however, I had to show him a thing or two about the M14.

What is interesting is that the disconnector is the M1 rifle type without the extended tab for the select fire option. I thought all M14s had that extension regardless if it had full auto capability.

Enjoy!

A M14 disconnector is not needed unless full auto selective fire is desired. I used to maintain a couple hundred M14's that all arrived with the button and not the selector switch. All 200 still had the proper M14 disconector. Rifles came out of Anniston Army Depot ANAD. Edited by Bridgeport28A1

90% of M14s were delivered without the selector switch, just the "button". The disconnector is identical on all M14s.
