Tman
If it goes for the top of their estimate, someone will be getting a super deal. Me thinks it will go higher.
Got Uzi
Im guessing itll end up at $15k-$18k
StrangeRanger
I'm not really looking for a BAR but if that one goes for the estimate I might have to be

Got Uzi
$7500-$10,000 is the auction estimate. Ive talked to them about it and it would be interesting to buy for sure Edited May 1, 2020 by Got Uzi
deerslayer
Plugged barrel would be an easy fix.
StrangeRanger
Plugged barrel would be an easy fix.The barrel has NOT been welded to the receiver which is why its on a Form 4 rather than a 5. That makes it a VERY easy fix
GaryKeim
Then the estimated price is really low, and it should go appreciably higher?
StrangeRanger
Considerably higher, like the cost of a live gun plus installing a new barrel
GaryKeim
Do you mean, this high? https://gunspot.com/listings/detail/1986/browning-auto-rifle-bar/ Seems nuts to me.
BillyDixon
this gun would be a good start to make a moniter, just sayn
StrangeRanger
A Marlin-Rockwell Monitor? Talk about a Frankengun.
MG08
I would guess this will go north of $40k. Easy REWAT, and no unsightly marks to deal with.
StrangeRanger
I'm guessing a little lower, around $33-35K, simply because the re-wat won't be "original."
johnsonlmg41
I'm guessing a little lower, around $33-35K, simply because the re-wat won't be "original." If done well it will be original in my view.....other than the bipod and missing flash hider which will be impossible to find which will forever diminish this gun. If you think this is going to be non-original, you might want to take a peak and know probably 90% of C+R guns that left the country were reactivated at some point. I've yet to see an MG42 that wasn't reactivated? Junk in the barrel ain't no big deal. Just think of how low the BP will be if you get it for $3750? LOL
StrangeRanger
The bipod is removable but were they retrofitted to Lend Lease guns? If so, it could remain - minus the red plastic thingyThe flash hider can be re-popped/counterfeited (depending on your view of such things)Still $3750? You're off by about an order of magnitude. I'll never be able to afford it if it goes for anything like what it's worth but I'll be only too happy to jump in if the bidding stalls at Cowan's estimate
Got Uzi
Chauchat-$3500=$4445STEN-$5500=$6985BAR-$23,000=$29,210 20% buyers premium and dont forget the 7% sales tax.....
StrangeRanger
Actually it may be a bit higher if they chage sales tax on the buyers premiun then the BAR would have gone for $23K x 1.20 x 1.07 = $29,532.Still out the door under $30K is a decent buy; I might even call it a BARgain The STEN price looks equally good considering it's a real one not a tube gun I won't comment on the Cowshit Chauchat
