Recoil Spring Guide Rod

Recommended Posts

Youve seen this picture before. It's the same in all model 28 Thompsons. The unsupported recoil spring is kinked and the result will be that the actuator will collide with the spring and guide everytime the gun is fired. Eventually your guide rod and actuator will be damaged. The damage can be bad enough to ruin your actuator and possibly break out the rear of your receiver.

I have a perminent solution to this problem. My 2 pc guide rod supports the recoil spring all the way into the actuator. For details e-mail me at zebcoboy@cox.net.

Also there was people at the Phx SAR shows in Dec. , in the corner of the MG yellow building , wearing pin-stripe suits , who were selling a square , black , boxy buffer that works well. The rod for it is different than the orig '28 rod. Do you have a rod that will work in thier buffer? Thanks , Chris

Those people in the suits in the back corner of the yellow building were

Gordon (of Thompson serial number fame) and his entourage (Ron and others).

Gordon sells great flat M1921 style ejectors and new style buffers as well

as other Thompson items. Right next to them was Doug Richardson with

all his goodies, and in the corner next to Doug was Tim Polston with his

semi-auto... it was a great place with great people!

I'm having this problem with the Wolf spring I purchased last month. Its slightly longer than the spring that came in my WH. Would definitely be interested in one of these guide rods. Please post purchase info!

Shame on me for not responding to all the interest. I have put the cart before the horse on this one. I have four units out there being tested. Unfortunately only two are in guns that are used frequently. I want to be sure that I have a product worth the cost before I offer it to the general public. If you feel that you might be interested I can put your email address on my list and I will supply you with the details when it is ready to market.

I will have my girlfriend spank me tonight for being neglectful. Thanks for the interest.
