Hossbreed45
Hello, Is there a difference in length between the current commercial TM1 buttstock and the USGI M1/M1A1 buttstock? Will the USGI M1/M1A1 buttstock attach to the TM1 grip frame without modifications? Same question for the pistol grip. Thanks in advance... Devious6
I have an M1SB and have swapped out all the wood. If the butt stock isn't exactly the same length, it's close enough that you won't notice a difference. Here is a picture of mine with the original butt stock before I cleaned/began to apply BLO to it. It fit perfectly I also bought an original butt plate with the access gate. For the vertical grip, if I remember correctly, I had to deepen the recess for the mounting screw to allow it to get enough depth to attach securely. Easy to do - just go slowly and check the fitting frequently so you don't go too deeply. If you do, though, you can always add some spacers to make up for the difference. This is mine after swapping out all the wood.
Broadarrowmaint
I was gonna ask if an original M1 grip would fit on the grip frame but I guess that answers my question. Did you have to make any sort of modification to the original grip for it to fit on the grip frame?
Hossbreed45
That was actually the question I was wanting answered too - the pistol grip not the vertical foregrip. Guess I should have worded it better...
Devious6
The horizontal pistol grip fit the frame perfectly - just had to deepen the recess for the screw. The horizontal foregrip has the be the correct wisth - it's been awhile but I think the Kahr/Thompsons have a 3/4" channel and the originals are 1/2" You just need to look for one that's been modified or do it yourself
peter kohler
be careful when you put the rear grip in. if the screw goes in too deep your going to have problems cocking and squeezing the trigger. you may or may not have to put a washer in or get a longer or shorter screw. just be careful when you tighten it down. theres a few articles in here explain all this.
