Is that bolt much different from the MP-28?

I think the bolts are interchangeable but the MP18 bolt will only operate in the full auto mode

But i think the extractors are not exactly same. I will post a picture

Lanchester. Sarco has them. I will say most will require fitting. Even all MP18 extractors are not the same and require some fitting. HTH

Thanks for the suggestion ! I tried a Lanchester extractor, and it fits without adjustment.

So can you use an MP28 bolt in an MP18,I? Would be nice to get a 28 bolt for shooting and not risk damaging the original bolt.

The MP 28 bolts will not work. They look almost identical, but are not. Nor is the extractor. I speak from experience as I own an original MP 18.1. Not wanting to ruin the original bolt (BTW, both bolt and extractor are serialized) I sent the material to Jason at Indianapolis Ordnance and he reversed engineered a bolt and extractor for me. Since my MP 18.1 is the later stick mag version, he also modified the bolt/mag interface to accept modified STEN mags.

 

So the modified bolt works with both modified STEN and original MP 18.1 mags, while the original bolt only works with original mags.
