Bill in VA
Pray tell, Frank, why is the post "useless without pics"? Sgt, I'm assuming your TSMG is a full-auto. If so, it was made by Savage (they began producing the M1 series TSMGs in mid-1942, IIRC.) Frank's (Iannamico) book should be able to narrow it down to a more specific date (sorry, I'm a bit remiss...I haven't bought it yet either.) If you're looking for specifics, such as what unit/which soldier, where the gun went, etc... you'd probably have better luck finding a basketball glove or a football bat. Of course, you could also try a FOIA request from the NFA branch for whatever they might have in the NFRTR on your gun. (Keep in mind, most of the info you'll be wanting, such as owners) will be redacted.)
Hawkeye_Joe
Frank, If you click on the "my M1A1" you will find pics.......does that make it less useless? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
giantpanda4
Sgt Martin, Nice Gun! Looks like you have the wrong type of selectors for the M1A1 - they should be pin type, not paddle type. I'd be happy to swap you both! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
SecondAmend
Nice M1A1 - the "U.S." and "PROPERTY" are on separate lines. I believe this is definitive of Savage manufacture.
