Ok with the recent discussions on jamming I just fixed up some magazines. The lips on all were bend down and bent out of shape. It's a bit difficult to capture but I think you can see the before and after on the right side feed lips. Both sides are done but I was focusing the camera on the right side.

The bolt should just barely clear the lips when the mag is locked in place.

I just bought 5 xtra mags to use in my tm1. ive decided to modify the mags instead of the catch. all are 30 rounders. I very carefuly opened the hole until the mag snapped in place and the catch was fully closed. there is absolutely no up and down movement and I can feel that the mag follower is pressed against the bolt. this makes me wonder if the lips are too close to the bolt or upper. will this have a slowing effect on the bolt? the mag that came with the gun has a bit of up and down play. ive fired about 100 rounds through it. it did jam so I opened the feed lip on the right side as I could see that was where the bullet had a slight downward tilt to the nose. I did very slight bends until it quit jamming. so how tight is too tight.? im going to test fire each one as I do them.

thanks for any information peter

Push the follower down and hold it in place with a punch or nail through one of the holes. Then stick it in the gun. Operate the bolt and see it if hits a feed lip. Doesn't matter if the follower does because the bolt never rubs on it except in recoil after the last shot.
