Normal1959
Is there a time limit on the fingerprint cards? I had them done a year or so ago and got extras and i am buying a new gun this week. Can i use the prints from a year ago? ThanksEric
Black River Militaria CII
Generally a year is the age limit since a prospective NFA buyer could acquire a felony charge in that time and become disqualified for firearms possession.
johnsonlmg41
I would use them if you have them. With process times sometimes taking more than a year, time is no longer relevant. They are informational cards, not criminal database cards and the last thing performed before approval is a background check which weeds out any criminals as close as possible to approval. Bridgeport28A1
They BATF/FBI will be checking your fingerprints submitted to determine if you have been arrested and convicted of a felony or other disqualifying conviction. Fingerprints taken a year ago or yesterday are not going to change. Any time limit requirement regarding fingerprint card dates would appear to be an administrative requirement. It is not worth having a transfer delayed due to any time limit imposed as far as I am concerned.
