Help Me Evaluate this Reising Bolt

ive been offered a bolt...Seller isnt saying its a beauty queen...just a good solid spare bolt..he is not asking a huge amount of money

 

any opinions? help (i have no clue as im new to the reising and it will be in jail for 10+ more months)

There's no telling, as this was the part that I believe had the most hand fitting. If it's not fractured anywhere, then it's probably a good spare. If you ever have to use this spare, it will likely require some fitting.

Do you have access to a Magnaflux unit?

If you do get the bolt checked. You are mostly interested in the area between the notch that the action bar rides in and the hole for the crosspin that retains the firing pin. If it is going to crack, that is the most likely spot. If it's solid, buy it.

 

BTW Numrich has Reising bolts for $58.50 ea.
