Fair Price Offer for Model 50

I am trying to sell a Model 50 and would like to know a fair price to request, from a dealer or individual.

This particular Model 50 is in pretty excellent condition. Left the factory on December 8, 1941, for police use..Doesn't look like it saw much use. Bore, wood, excellent. Blueing has no flaws. 4 digit S/N, and has three 20 rd. mags, all H&R manufacture. I feel the offers I received have been pretty "low ball". Would like some members to give a ball park figure on asking price for this. I will provide pictures if that would help. I've had it since 1975, and don't "need" to sell it, but want to sell it.

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

I would say 5500-6500 to someone wanting to buy a Reising with a reasonably quick sale. (Retail sale) The market is soft now.

Dealer pricing for buying will be significantly lower, I believe, as they are not fast movers and the dealer will be holding for quite a while.

That said, this one just went for 5500 with a Fed Labs case. It has issues as does the case, but seems to be a decent buy. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/793422042

Have a look at Rubin's site.

He currently has 11 M50s.

Price range is from $6295.00 for an "S" S/N gun, to $7995.00 for a 4 digit PD gun, w/case.

Keep in mind his prices run on the high side of retail market.

As Ron says above, selling to a dealer will be much lower.

last one i saw sell from an individual was $5000 with extras on the m16 forum

there are so many out there right now...@ $5000 he tool 2 months to sell...might have taken less....he started at $6,000 w/ extra, then went to $5800 w/ no extras, then $5500, then $5,000 and it still sat for a few weeks....i can only assume he took less or tossed his extras back in

if your getting offers between $5000-$5500 id take them...I got pics of the m16 forum gun, it was VERY nice

ruben was at $7,999, then $6,999...now 6,499....if he is $6500, the market is $5,000

a friend and forum member just bought one on GB from MWT for $5500...but WITH THE CASE!!!!

good luck

Right. Really nice items are still selling well at auction, but it has to be all original and in excellent condition, whatever it is, or offered at little or no reserve. I just don't think there are enough millennials with money and an interest in purchasing guns to keep prices strong.
