Most useless gun accesory on the Gulf coast

Recommended Posts

But its all mine and took me years to find one for sale.

Swedish dog sled for the Kg m/37 BAR.(I have no dog and snow deep enough to use it requires Hell's cooperation)

The sled replaces the bipod and acts as a mount for the gun. The gun folds down into the sled for travel and has a spring loaded cover that protects the muzzle from any snow that might come in through the front. The ring at the back of the sled locks the doors closed and when its pulled straight back it releases the locks. The gun can then be pivoted up and fired right from the sled. Not sure what the dog is suppose to do while you are firing. The butt stock protrudes out the back of the sled when its closed up in transport mode.

Mongo,

Where on earth did you find something like that??

My guess would be Sweden. If I'm correct ,it must have cost a bundle to have it shipped to the US.

Was the gunner suppose to sit on the sled or walk with the dog???

Very nice looking BAR. I like the pistol grip. Bet it handles better than a regular BAR.

Yup, found it in Sweden, ain't the internet wonderful. You ski and the dog follows you pulling the gun int he sled.

The only reason I knew they even existed was because there was a Finish website that showed reenactors using one from the Winter war. They used weapons donated from Sweden. The Swedish military museum has one with a picture on line but I doubted they would sell it. It took a while but I found a guy in Sweden with one and I finally talked him out of it. $120 to ship it air mail.

The BAR is much better than the USA version with the pistol grip and quick change barrel.. They really loved to do nice machining over there and the gun is in 6.5 Swede which makes it nice to shoot.
