Frank Iannamico
In response to the owners of West Hurley Thompsons who are interested in reading about the history and background of these guns. I suggest my USA Submachine Guns book available from the BOOKS section of this site; http://www.machinegunbooks.com/index2.html There is a section that covers the WH M1 and 1928 guns and the WH drums. There are also two letters from the factory listing the serial numbers and the dates of manufacture. In addition there are photos of the guns, their markings and the drums. The book also includes WWII Thompsons and how they faired when tested against other foreign and domestic designs, during the Ordnance Departments quest to find a replacement for the Thompson, as well as their performance when submitted to the Ordnance dust and mud tests. See the book on this site for more info. The book has nearly 500 pages! Regards! Frank Iannamico
Merry Ploughboy
This truly a great book! I look in it for info more than any other gun reference I have. A must have! Frank did not pay me to say so either.
DC Chris
Agreed. I picked it up for Christmas and I am still working through each section every night. Good stuff. Chris.
