thewiseone91
So I'm being told to get this set up for my Erb MP40. That it will run better and be more reliable. Can anyone speak to the truth of that or will the original bolt and recoil assembly work fine? Thanks.
Speeddemon02
Have you fired it with the original yet?
thewiseone91
Have you fired it with the original yet?I'll be firing it tomorrow. I've had to repair or replace a lot of parts to be able to get it to function correctly.
83Baron
I have two mp40s and have only ever used original parts and never had a problem.
Black River Militaria CII
Owners substitute the FBP parts to save wear or possible damage to the the matching numbered parts of their guns. Better reliability? Not possible to determine given all the variables in any given gun. The FBP parts interchange, are well made and function well, so what more needs to be said?
Roland the Thompsongunner
I use one in my MP38 instead of the factory bolt. It works fine but you may need to change out the spring or modify it. Mine was too stiff and the gun ran away or would jam. I put a factory spring in the assembly and it runs 100% for many 1000's of rounds.
Sandman1957
Mine ran-away as well. I replaced the spring with a Wolf spring and the FPB set up runs fine now. Its nice having two bolts and spring sets.
Grasshopper
Hi All, Mine desired hot ammo with the FBP factory recoil assembly. I just clipped the spring that came in the FBP assembly a bit at a time till it ran with normal 9x19. Runs fine now. I'd better find the factory mp-40 parts, bag them, and keep them next to the gun. Hate to have them get lost if I was out of the picture. Grasshopper Edited February 13, 2017 by Grasshopper
Chopper28
My Wilson tube gun runs 100% with either factory or the FPB bolt assembly. No problems.
