Looking through the final, 6th edition of Gordon's book, I note that there is nothing listed for serial number 936.
It was one of the guns purchased by the IRA and it is now in the Imperial War Museum:
http://www.iwm.org.u...object/30029433
Serial number 5771, is also not listed, but I have found some photos of her with French Berthier sling attachments.

Some updates for three guns which are listed:
Serial number 640 is listed in the book as an IRA gun. It was shown in a post on the forum a while back, it had the original receiver, but it now has an M1 trigger frame fitted to it, with details of its current location.

Serial number 4032 is listed in the book as a 1921A, but I have a photo of the trigger frame, which was for sale on gunbroker, and it is actually a Model of 1927.

Serial number 10592 is listed, but looking at some photos I found, I believe it was one of the French contract guns, sling attachments, which is not mentioned in the listing.

Richard,
Excellent updates! Thank you for your efforts. I believe I remember #10592...I may have mentioned it in the French Colt Thompson section of TUTB. I need to check to make sure, but that number seems really familiar to me.
I have updated the main post with the 2 new serials...
Thanks!

Has anyone checked to see if the 13 Colt guns delivered to Sweden listed in the new book, "A Thompson for Sweden - M40" , appear in Gordon's book?
I do not have this book so am unable to check. Most of the serial numbers are in the 10XXX to 14XXX range with one number being much lower - 6354.
I would like to know if this gun is mentioned in Gordon's book in particular.
Regards

Morning David,
I noticed RChapmans post concerning the discovery of part of sn 9283, so I checked Gordons books and they have nothing listed against that serial number, so another bit of history to add to newly discovered Colt Thompsons.
http://www.machinegu...showtopic=21695
# 9283 Trigger assembly with 1921 buttstock and pistol grip, fitted to a late model 1928A1 with smooth barrel and battle sights, found in the Netherlands
and another, what appears to be a French contract 1921 posted by member Paulsavoy, # 11848, which has not details listed in Gordon's book:
www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21716
Deactivated to new EU specifications in France.
Best regards
Richard

I don't have Gordon's book so this may or may not be new info.
Colt '21A #232 is on display in Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin Ireland. No finish, but lots of rust as one might expect from an Irish Sword hidden beneath someone's floorboards for half a century. It's displayed wearing a C drum. No number visible on the drum in the display.
Colt '21AC #9962 was recently surrendered to the Virginia War memorial Foundation's museum and is currently kept from the torch by a Form 10. It's engraved at the cocking slot: "E.E. RICHARDSON/MAUMEE, O" It's sitting in an FBI case with a cleaning rod, no spare parts box, two XX magazines and one shotshell magazine, plus an L drum.

That's the gun. I also have a couple photos of the gun in its case as well as one with the museum curator holding it (and a video of him firing it.) I'll see if I can';t get the pictures up[loaded. Not sure about how comfortable he is with showing his face, but if he's OK with it I'll at least blur out his face.
I also have a couple not-so-great photos of #232
