bmarvin
I have decided to sell a portion of my tear gas guns and cases.I need some help with pricing. I have 2-Federal Labs, a H&R, a S&W,a Sedgley, and a Lake Erie True Flite. I also have a Federal Labs hard case as wellas a Lake Erie hard case and a Lake Erie gas mask.I have seen recent Federal Labs on Gunbroker but the others are a bit tougher to price.Once I have established pricing, board members here will get first shot.ThanksBrian
copdoc
NIce collection and a shame to split it up. I'll bet I am like the others that are interested. Hate to guess a price when they varied so much on gas guns even before the ecomony took a dive. I have never seen a Sedgley change hands. That is a very nice and rare piece. I have been surprised there is not more collector interest in them. Gas guns are rare, unique and historicaly significant. I guess they were not used in cowboy and gangster movies. They should have been in the gangster movies beside the TSMGs and Winchester 351s. A law enforcement dealer gave me a stainless Tru Flite. It would not chamber the Federal 38mm. I would guess stainless steel Tru Flites are as rare as a iron framed Henry or more so, just not the collector interest. Please post prices here when you decide. bmarvin
I'm tempted to put them on Gunbroker and let the market decide the value. It seems the Federal Labs are at the low end of the scale selling in the $300-$400 range. The S&W and H&R seem to bring $100 or so more. The Lake Erie and Sedgley have me stumped as do the cases. There is a Federal Labs case w/gas gun online now at $1295 with no takers so I guess that is too much. Reising hardcases seem to sell in the $600 range but it's tough to compare a Reising 50 to a gas gun.I'm open to offers and or educated guesses.ThanksBrian
copdoc
I just took a look ar ar15.com and there is a similar discussion in artlllery. One suggested based on past sales 250-300 for the Federal, but that seems low to me even in just good condition with no accessories. There are just not many to compare. Again, that is a nice collection.
Superdave1953
Sorry I'm late. Anything left? The S&W generally run in the $500 catagory, the TruFlites i've encountered don't gererally run much higher that the Federal Lab, maybe a bit. The sedgely I've seen go for 500 to 1000. Cases are a real problem. nothing to compare to. I've seen them with the guns and this drives the price up considerably. The Gas Mask is very rare but I'm unable to price it. The only other I've seen is in my collection and I don't remember what I paid for it. Not much, though, as I'm just a working man. The H&R runs up in the 500 to 1000 range as well. This is one that has eluded me over the years due to it's cost. Hope this helps. Let me know what you have left. Thanks, SuperDave
