Chudi
I found your Forum 3 days ago and can't shut you off. I'm not sure to post this here or in the SMG section since mine is 45 years old.I have a WH 1927A1 that was manufactured in 1977. I would like to convert it to a SBR. My big question is the barrel replacement. I'll be going with the 10.5 barrel with the radius fins and threaded for the Cutts comp. So far I've only found 2 places to get the barrel I want: thompsonbarrels@yahoo a gentleman name Dave or ima-usa.com. So many posts on after market crap from all sides of the spectrum is makimg me dizzy. Anybody familiar when either one ?Here in Southern Nevada I haven't found any Thompson enthusiasts that can answer any of my questions. I adore my Tommy but want it as close to an original as possible. I will be shooting it when it is a SBR. Form 1 has been submitted.Thax ahead of time for any opinions.Chudi
Hossbreed45
Welcome to the Platoon! I am in Boulder City and am waiting on my Form 1 Tax Stamp for my M1 Thompson SBR. Maybe we can get together down the road and shoot our SBRs together. Good luck on yours...
giantpune
As old as yours is, you may be able to find parts for it from Numrich. They show a handful of barrels on their website. This one's 10.5", finned, blued, and threaded.https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/516390

Sandman1957
I've bought several barrels from Dave (thompsonbarrels) and they are superb. Highly recommend him. I'd also go for the early Colt Fin pattern he does, (unless you are making a Military gun). FWIW, he will make you a 1921A with Front Ring sight and that's alot easier to clean than the Cutts Comp version. He makes both the Colt fin pattern in the 1921A and 1928 Navy mode (threaded for Comp). Good luck, and don't forget the tax stamp has to be recieved first before you get the barrel. This is my Colt Thompson with his 1921A barrel (Dave Thompsonbarrels) Close of fin pattern CheersSandman1957
