bmarvin
Took apart my Ceiner suppressor. The ported barrel is surrounded by what appears to be rivets for jeans. I have a Bell Labs in transfer. Wonder what that has around the barrel?Brian
emmagee1917
Any packing that the gas will pass into and be delayed for a real tiny bit of time and act as a heat sink will work. A stack of screen washers , a roll of screen , these washers , all about the same.First time I fired mine , I thought the gun had failed to pick up the round . The action noise of the bolt closing on an empty chamber was louder than the case cushioned bolt and the gunshot . I then saw the bolt was back and thought WT.. , then the bullet hit the cardboard at 50 yds , then the ejected case hit the concrete .WOW!I've repacked mine with the little brass ferrules use in truck plastic air brake lines .Chris
Mike-Tornado Technologies
If it's a real Bell Labs suppressor and they haven't been replaced, the wrap around the barrel is tin plated copper mesh as are the baffles. Not Steel or brass as is often reported. Took apart my Ceiner suppressor. The ported barrel is surrounded by what appears to be rivets for jeans. I have a Bell Labs in transfer. Wonder what that has around the barrel?Brian
Frank Iannamico
Those are shoestring eyelets used for shoes, all the original MAC suppressors used them in the first stage. I have a MAC suppressor that Tom Bowers upgraded to a wipeless design. He told me that he leaves the eyelets in the first stage because they do work as heat sinks to cool the hot gases. Edo
Hello! Did you ever get your Bell labs can? If so would you be so kind as to post a detailed photo of it and/or it's parts? I am an SOT/ 02/07 MFR with an M3 and 2 M3A1 posties. I would like to build a registered re-pro OSS model suppressor for my M3. Thanks for any help. I did recently locate a schematic on the net but it was blurry and I could not make out the details. Thanks for any help on this... Edo Southwest Virginia NFA fan and shooter... Zenithnadir
Edo, if you can locate a copy of Silencers for Hand Firearms by Siegfried F Hueber, Paladin Press, there is a Bell Labs schematic on page 48; or I could send you a copy of said page if you furnish an address.MR
