He's drooling over thompsons as you can imagine. I was able to tell him quite a bit about the NFA world (I'm no real expert but I know more than he does, I generally call ATF for any real questions) and we talked about transferable and non transferable. He didn't have any knowlege about the different categories, no important reason for it here as basically none are allowed, but he did ask an interesting question. Is there some provision for a law officer to keep or possess a full auto after he retires or leaves the force? Iowa law may play a part in this I realize, but I thought I read something about this once (maybe proposed or recently enacted legislation). He was going to do some checking, but I thought I'd ask here too. Dan Talking about an new manufactured post sample of course, not a transferable one. clintonlover Posted September 17, 2005 Report Share Posted September 17, 2005 No law officer is allowed to own post sample, even when actively employed the weapon belongs to the state government or local pd.
