stingray656667
Hello, Is there supposed to be any movement between the upper and lower receiver when the upper is pulled towards the front and pushed towards the rear of the weapon? Is the interface between the two receivers so close in tolerance that there should be no movement and if there is movement is this a sign of excess wear? Thanks for any replies. stingray656667
NFA amnesty
I have very slight movement between my upper and lower when pulled in opposite directions. I traced it to the take down pin area between the upper and lower receiver. Even with this, no issues inserting a magazine and locks up great. huggytree
Checked mine today Maybe a 32nd of play. It goes clack when I do it , so its not tight Mine is well shot. Could be 10,000 rounds or more through it. I know its history and it has been a shooter to every owner.
jpw43
My WH had a lot of slop pre-PK's treatment. Now it's tight, but slides more smoothly during takedown.
jim c 351
When the gun was new there would be no movement with the receiver and trigger group.Over time the hole in the receiver and /or the trigger frame become egg shaped. One of my guns was so sloppy I had to increase the size of the hole in the receiver and make a custom locking bolt.I consider this system a weak point in an otherwise robust gun,Jim C
anticus
I’ve got a bit of fore and aft slop in mine. Is there an approved way to remove or replace the frame latch button ? I think my gat needs a new one.

mohawk64
If the pin hole is worn I can make a slightly oversized pin to tighten the fit up.
anticus
I installed a NOS button and the fit is factory tight. The old one must have been very worn. Thanks all for the helpful comments.
giantpanda4
Having a sloppy fit isn't an issue. My shooter gun does, I can say for sure I never notice it! And I just shot about 800 rounds yesterday.
jpw43
Doesn't the frame latch button have a sort of conical shaped spring to hold it in place?
2ndArmored
It does. That's to prevent the pin & spring from falling out of the receiver. Tuning the pin counter-clockwise as you pull it out makes life a bit easier. (Photo from Apex.)
