mp40shooter
I am a newcomer to Thompson guns, but a longtime admirer, and have decided to get an Auto Ordnance semi-auto. I have on hand a Sarco M1 Thompson parts kit, which may factor into which version of the Thompson I acquire, depending on the response to this question: to what degree can parts from the M1parts kit be interchanged with the contemporary semi-auto Auto Ordnance guns and how useful are the potential swaps? Also, is there a thread in the discussion boards that summarizes the modifications that can be done to the semi-auto AO guns? Thanks. TSMGguy
Right. The ATF demanded changes to the SA version to prevent just such swaps. Receiver bolt pocket and bolt dimensions are not compatible for starters.

MrBill
You can build your M1 parts kit into a ATF approved SBR with a Philly Ordinance 80% receiver. IMO much better than Kahr Thompson. Weapons Guild has the build and it may be within your skill level.
mp40shooter
As much as I would like to, I am unable to successfully attach photos of the parts kit. I am putting it up for sale on Gunbroker if you have interest. Thanks.
