Bill-banger
I'm new to Thompsons, awaiting my first transfer right now, but I have most of the old MachineGUn News issues and started digging through them the other night and found ads from a company called "Gun Machines" owned by Jim Klodzinski, who also wrote the "Tinkering with Thompsons" column for MGN. Whatever happened to Mr. Klodzinski and his company?
Arthur Fliegenheimer
It died a merciful death. His speed bolts were hazardous to the health of Thompson's.
Bill-banger
Are you referring to his modification to eliminate the "Blish Lock" and replace it with a nut & bolt arrangement? AS I said, I'm new to TSMG's and just remember that GunMachines seemed to be the authority in the old MGN.
Arthur Fliegenheimer
No. That was a WWII British North Africa modification. Klodzinski lightened perfectly good Savage/AO, maybe even some Colt, bolts for the purpose of increasing the Thompson's ROF beyond the specifications the weapon was intended to function.
