Got Uzi
My Form 5 was mailed Jan 24, went pending Jan 29, was approved Feb 5 and it arrived at my dealer today Feb11. Went and picked it up this evening. Now to file my Form 1 online to make it live again. It drops onto my Marlin tripod and looks good. I have another Colt 303 barrel, grip assembly and side plates. Im looking forward to restoring it. Hope the E-File goes quick
johnsonlmg41
Not going to go quick. You can't efile a form 1 for a reactivation unless something has changed in the last 6 months? I was told they were working on it, but that's fairly meaningless to people who live in the real world. HTHPost some pics!

Got Uzi
I talked to one of the people at NFA couple weeks ago and she told me it could be done as an e-file. This was one of the specialists for when the low level phone people cant figure it out. It was hard enough to explain that yes it needs to transfer on a Form
Got Uzi
Just read on the application that you are correct, can not efile the F1, has to be paper. Wtf makes the difference people? You already know its in the system and cleared it to me. Guess Ill be making a call to NFA tommorrow for clarification
johnsonlmg41
Let me save you some time.... I asked someone knowledgeable that works there that knows the people working on it and after he explained it, he agreed it made no sense either? That's just how it is until they figure it out. The system will accept your application, but it will later be "disapproved" and funds credited. I asked the logical question that if you guys have all the info, why you can't just print it out and manually approve it.......and apparently that's where one of the problems lie? In the real world this would be fixed in a few days, but in .gov time......well time is endless and they hope you just go away vs. setting their efile system up as old school pdf. that they already provide on their website, but is not compatible with their internal efile system. I just freed up some time for you to post some pics!! LOL

Got Uzi
One in the same. From what Ive learned about this gun, its a rare Colt that wasnt advertised properly
AlanDavid
Does it have any British commercial proof marks or Canadian ownership markings? Regards AlanD
Got Uzi
Only markings that an non-colt are a small broad type arrow, maybe a 1/4 in size and a number 18 stamped on the barrel. Im leaning towards it being a Canadian Gun more than British the more I read. Im chasing a few leads on this front and hope something will pan out
m3bobby
What type of foot is on the back leg? I have the same tripod which came out of a Victorian Territorial Army building which was being demolished. Mine also has what appears to be a bracket for shield bolted to it. Ive only seen 2 others and they were on display at the Royal Armouries in Leeds UK.
Got Uzi
The back foot has a flat sheet metal type foot. That bracket would have indeed been for a shield. Ive seen pics of them and a couple in person. Is it a Colt or Marlin tripod? The one in my pics is a from my Marlin

Got Uzi
Can’t get pics to load, but upon taking the Colt apart I made an interesting discovery-this was one of ones that had the side cocking assembly which used a cable, sprocket and arm to cock the gun! Found the cut off screws still in the side plate. I’m in a good mood and now wondering how hard it will be to find those parts to either buy or pattern so as to make them new
