Bob, I love my MG-42 more than my Thompsons. 1200-1400 RPM and what a roaring, fire breathing machine. I have a 28Navy and a Savage Brit US1928A1. My 42 is an early CRA43 7xxxa with horizontal cocking handle and MG-34 bipod catch.

The beautiful, time honored TSMG was outclassed (I will never say a Thompson is obsolete) by technology before WWII. The MG-42 (MG3) is still a front line weapons system.

Interestingly, the 21's and 28N are holding their own price wise with similar quality MG-42's. I am not going to give up either. old Doug
