Re-converting 1927a1 Magazines

I did a search for a previous thread(s) I vaguely remember, that addressed 'fixing' the oval holes in magazines converted for use with the 1927A1.

 

Does anyone have a suggestion on how this can be done?

This sound like it would be more work than it's worth, TSMG mags aren't that expensive. Sell them and buy some unmodified mags.

PK fixed a half a dozen of my mags, 20 rounds and 30. He did it for a nominal charge, you couldn't tell they were ever messed up for the '27, and they run perfectly. I fixed one once. You just need to slide a small piece of brass inside the mag to back up the hole while you weld it up (the weld will not stick to the brass). You don't need fill the hole up completely just the bottom. Then you can reshape the hole and the work is all on the out side of the mag.
