DC Chris
Subguns 1921 Colt AC ... I hate it when people engrave stuff. Yuck. That is just plain disrespectful to the gun - even if it was done in the 1970's. Let me guess, 75K to start? http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/upload/nfafirearms.7092.2.jpg http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/upload/nfafirearms.7092.1.jpg Chris. philasteen
From the ad: The owner is considering selling it if a serious buyer with serious money wants it. Because of its impeccable condition its owner hasn't been able to establish an exact value but the one thing that is certain is that it will not be inexpensive. If you have serious interest please email and perhaps you can acquire it.
Roland, Headless Thompson Gunner
No its not you Chris, I'm with you, that is coyote ugly. Any chance if it was parked enough times you could make it go away?
Grey Crow
From the looks of the photo it looks as if the engraving was done with a Radio Shack name engraver. I would hope it is just the poor photo. That's going to take some serious milling to get all of that crap off. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif
TD.
I don't think it will ever bring market price.
Ron Mills
That is really sad, really ugly, and really just plain dumb.
Zamm
Really, the only thing on a Thompson should be rolled/stamped type and numbers! That is not only butt-ugly, it should be a crime. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Z
NotDeaf
Is it me or my eyes, but doesn't the magazine catch hole looked to be filled in and never re-knurled. I see the pistol grip and the butt stock has been checkered. ( Or whatever it's called) It just looks weird....
giantpanda4
yeah - the rear grip looks thin - lick a Kahr. Bisley45
Tragicly ugly, I'd take it but only at a discount from market rate, then I'd mask the important lettering use filler and finish with a black epoxy paint and call it a " british war " finish. OldFalGuy
Guys, Someone made mention of a carved up gun on subguns and I guess I didn't scroll down far enough to find it- YUCK, that is worse than plating the poor thing. I saw another one there a 1921AC that Beech Tree sold for 28K that was a lot better looking than this one and I think was priced below market if the condition is actually what is written- the wood looks 80% at best fromthe pics- Last 2 nice ones I saw sold at KCR were over 32k and were beauts over 90%. But i saw something I haven't seen before- this 21 has the number "5" stamped on the wood, frame etc. What int he heck is that all about??????????????????? Arthur Fliegenheimer
Only someone with the diabolical hatred for Colt like a John Jr could perpetrate this putrid disaster upon a firearm. The owner seems oblivious to the fact that whomever attempted this amateurish face lift successfully devalued the weapon by half in the current Colt TSMG market

Sgt
Scarification is a rite of passage in some cultures. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/hail.gif Oh well, maybe some good Thompson smith can fill it in and refinish. Does anyone know the asking price, for sure?
Grey Crow
I'll give a starting bid of $600.00 and the owner pays all transfer fees and shipping. Plus he must throw in the RS engraver! AND the gold lacquer stick.
colt21a
i would pay $10,000.00 for it...since it was owned by saddam...oh wait his bro!! so let me know who to send the check to.....now that i put this price on it on the public forum board...the word will spread that ron want's it..now somebody will anti up.. another $10,000.00 so i don't get it...then another big time dealer..will just say f. them two guy's i'm a big shot..and want the label of paying way too much for these gun's anyway!!and will fork over $30,000.00.......... and the world and the net will be at peace.. and we can pass on to more fun post's.. sheeeessh i wish some of these mudderfusser's would give the tommy market a break!! how much is me worth!! is this drum real..doe's it wind to 2:00 o-clock.is the color of this sling green or tan??wink
John Jr
QUOTE (Arthur Fliegenheimer @ Nov 17 2005, 06:12 PM) Only someone with the diabolical hatred for Colt like a John Jr could perpetrate this putrid disaster upon a firearm. Thank God it didn't happen to a Savage or an AO gun! OldFalGuy
What about those "5's" stamped on it in several places? What is that about?? Mark
DC Chris
Mark- What are you talking about? There is no "5"s on this gun. It is just butt-ugly. Chris.
Sgt
Mark probably posted on the wrong thread. I believe the 1921ac cop gun that just sold had "5"s all over it. Of course, "5"s on this one would be an improvment. http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.c...query=retrieval
