Robert Henley
I've got a F.B. Radom 1939 Code 660 (Steyr), which I believe is basically a K98 8mm rifle made in Poland. I researched this a while back, and when the Germans invaded Poland in 1939 they took over the manufacturing facility as I recall. The Russians later sent many Polish made guns back to Russia as I recall. I saw a couple on Gunbroker when I was researching, and they were to me surprising high in price. In any event, the purpose of my post is to see if anyone has a set of guard screws with lock screws like this sold out Sarco set: https://www.sarcoinc.com/m98-mauser-guard-screw-set-with-lock-screws-military-used/ I'm missing the front guard screw and both the lock screws, and would like to find those if anyone has some spares. If so, pm me. Feel free to comment on the history of the rifle too if anyone is familiar with the history. Thanks, Robert
TSMGguy
Robert, I've never gotten anything from Sarco that wasn't well-worn junk. Instead, I'd go to eBay and search for K98 screws. I've been able to find original guard and locking screws there, often NOS with photos of the items being purchased. Mid war screws won't have serial numbers or WaA stamps, but the screws will be well made and finished. Late war screws have visible machine marks on the heads. Very late war 98Ks had stamped trigger guards that didn't usually use locking screws. Hope this helps!
Robert Henley
I bought this set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303013270136 On the way. We'll see how they do. Missing the front screw and both locking screw guards. Then I think I'll go shoot it. Have to get some 8mm Mauser ammo.
Robert Henley
The above referenced screws worked perfectly. Now to find some 8mm Mauser ammo. The more I handle this rifle the more impressive it is. Thanks

TSMGguy
Here's about the only true military surplus 8mm I've seen in awhile. 1950s Yugo, my favorite, has long since dried up. http://www.unammo.com/AmmoSearch.aspx?Cal=8mm%20Mauser
