Mail order suppressors?

They say they have an FFL/SOT in every state where suppressors are legal. Possibly it is a co-operating dealer rather than them holding 42 separate licenses. All the paperwork gets handled either electronically or by snail mail.

There is an exception to in person 4473 if the transfer does not need to go through NICS. See ATF procedure 2013-2.

ATF used to publish the 4473 part 2 for non-over the counter sales. I have not seen this form for several decades. Somewhere I have a copy an older FFL/SOT gave me from Subguns.

From what I understand, the (Democrat) AG here in MI has said that even if the Feds say it's okay, her interpretation is that MI law requires the NICS check and signoff at the Dealer. So when the silencer that I bought in early May gets approved (hopefully in no more than a few months or so from now), I'll have to go to his shop, get the NICS approval done there, and pick it up from him.

MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

This company looks similar to silencershop.com and speaking as an FFL/sot this does in fact work. local dealers sign up to work with silencershop and silencershop does all the work. The only paperwork I do is cash a commission fee sent by silencershop, and complete a federal 4473. There is a box to check on the 4473 that a nics check is not required by the dealer as the form 4 covers the background check. So I would say buy in confidence. Edited by deerslayer
