Sgt
Over 20k for a Savage!!! Wow, I can't believe those went so high. When I bought my a-1, I could have gotten the earlier 1928 for 15K, which was about a year ago.
Sig
Truly amazing a NON Colt for $20K+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Jr
20K seems high, but after all M1A1s are selling for 15K. 25K wont be too much for a good 28 in 2 years.
SecondAmend
Asking price is one thing, selling at the asking price is another. There was an MP-40 with an asking price of $27,000 a several months ago on Subguns. I believe the ad expired without a sale. And just what percentage of wear does a "great" gun have? Mere puffery, IMHO.
21 smoker
Toooooooooooooooo MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCHHHHH.... but it is a first generation Savage... made on Colt machinery...maybe that is what the seller was hoping to cash in on... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
Sig
Just gotta wonder because the baby is SOLD! Anyone care to speculate how much for? My bet is since it sold within a day it went for asking price or not very much less.
kyle
He was asking $20,500. Remember he was selling two L- drums in the deal also. Let's assume he accepted $20k even. Figure about $1100 per drum. That means the gun sold for $17,800. That's a very realistic price for a nice Savage M1928 TSMG.
Sig
Kyle I'd say you can't be too far off. The drums would be worth max $900 each IMHO. We are still talking just around $18k!!! wow
bug
Gun went for asking price in 30 minutes. I was in contact with seller as I have a very similar gun. I had hoped he could provide me with some history. He couldn't, but he did give me a few leads. Bob D
