Rimcrew
What is going on with this stock, specifically, the two screws/bolts on the lower front? I saw another stock with these fasteners and assumed it was someone's attempt to fix a crack, but now this pops up and I have to rethink that assumption. Is this something that was added to lend-lease guns?? Is it correct for a WWII era gun?? TIA
Motorcar
Is this something that was added to lend-lease guns?? Is it correct for a WWII era gun?? Yes, early fix for the stock splitting under the slide attachment. Later stocks have the one large re-enforcing cross bolt.
Jack Wright
This is a British-modified stock. The two screws were added to reinforce the frontof the stock to prevent it from breaking. The British also relocated the sling swivelfrom the bottom to the top of the stock. You have a classic British stock.I have the same stock on my British cash-and-carry Model of 1928. Cool stock! It is a WWII stock...
