Lyman Sight Adjustment

Recommended Posts

I recently installed a new Lyman sight on my WH. During the range visit this weekend, the aperture rung in the ladder rode up during shooting. Is the little screw on the left hand side for tension on the friction clicker? Is this adjusted by "enough but not too much", or is there a spec/procedure for adjusting the tension?

It is not uncommon for the ladder to move into the forward position when shooting while it is in the lowered mode.

The tension spring is what is. If the screw is tight, is should provide enough resistance to keep the ladder in the desired elevated position while shooting in that mode. The only adjustment would be to remove the screw and spring, then bend the spring slightly and re-install.
