Hello all,

I recently purchased a C&R dfb42 MG34 tanker with Panzermantel shroud. I did a detailed video on it, which includes a fire demo at the end. If any experts here care to take a look, I'd appreciate it. Any constructive feedback will be warmly welcomed. Thanks!

I thought "dot" was the only maker of tanker MG34's. Is the receiver matching to the Panzermantel?

Both DOT and CRA were the common contractors for the tankers. It was common practice for them to take other ground gun configured MG34's and retrofit them with tanker shrouds, per Folke's book. I have found at least 3 other examples of dfb "tankers" with eagle code waa82 on the shroud, which was the shroud subcontractor. There is a discussion about it on gunboards under the "machine gun" topic forum. This example in the video is all matching other than top cover, bolt and barrel (so the shroud and receiver are matching.

Thanks!
