Finish is thin, down to the metal on the rear of the receiver, lots of scratches on the receiver and near the end of the barrel. S/n on the lower has been punched out so as to be unreadable. Barrel was probably replaced. Wood is actually fairly good. At best it's a 75 - 80% parts gun and this guy's asking $26,000. What an absolute joke. I saw this gun about 10 days ago, so I'm just giving my version of the description. Then a 2nd guy chimes in to say Wrong way to do it. Buddy will delete the whole post.... Just what was the guy supposed to do if he saw something be mis described in his opinion- Seems to have been described pretty well to me. I don't know nothing but this did seem steep for this Colt. But can you imagine someone posting a gun for sale that was totally mis described, another fella knowing it was and doing nothin? I realize there is not much "my brother's keeper" attitude anymore in this sorry worldA whole lot of folks could react to the ad without ever coming here or to even the discussion forums right there on Sturm or subguns- It could easily be missed even if it were posted there. There is 100% NIB never been touched, never been fired, never even been kissed, total virgin gun. Then you have a 0% gun which is scrap metal. Everything inbetween is the gray area and is subject to interpretation by the parties. I would hope that before someone spent $26000 on a gun they might go look at it first to see if its indeed as described. In that price pbracket there are a lot of guns, just as speciual (don't hang me guys) then there is the next level from MG 42's on up to Stoner 63's.. If I could find a real nice Savage for 19K or a Colt for 23K I would go for it but that is it, I have one Thompson already so no need.
