TD.
A forum member recently sent me the below pictures and asked if I had ever seen a pouch like this. I have not. He told me a friend purchased it with a bunch of other Thompson items. The seller claimed this pouch was for the Thompson submachine gun. There are no visible markings. Â Has anyone ever seen a pouch like this? Â Â Â Whatever this pouch is for, I do like it!
Ron Mills
I haven't seen one like it, but kinda interesting nonetheless! Maybe for UD42?Thanks for posting. Edited September 30, 2021 by Ron Mills
StrangeRanger
The color looks more like a piece of British kit but the snaps are typical of US pouches. Very curious
APEXgunparts
I have / had one or 2 pouches like that in the boxes of material we take to shows.I know I sold one to a gent for his Thompson magazines.I think we found those in with a few odd Israeli magazine pouches. No markings so hard to tell the country.Richard
TSMGguy
Agree with the above. The canvas has the color and coarse weave characteristic of British P37 kit. The British made lots of US field gear. Some of it is US marked, some of it isn't.
Ivan
So do Thompson mags fit ??20 or 30 round?Looks long enough for a 30 shot mag.Take a closer look at snaps to see if legit or Made in China repo.Could be a rigger pouch or Euro military post WW2 ? Got Uzi
Doesnt anyone recall a pair of pouches identical to this (except color) being on display at TATA and the question was the same-what or who were these made for
APEXgunparts
Here are pictures of the Thompson pouch I have on our show tables. The only markings I can see are on the dot snaps, so I took some close ups of them. There is a line drawn on the inside of the flaps as a reference for the person sewing them together. Its a sturdy pouch! Material seems heavier than the 5 pocket green 20 round pouches that APEX has.https://www.apexgunparts.com/thompson-smg-20rd-magazine-pouch-5-cell-vg.html I suppose I should probably hand onto this one.Richard
Mk VII
The LIFT-THE-DOT fasteners are very British (though we usually see them chrome-plated here).
jojeep
Reising Model 60 maybe???Read somewhere that during the War,that Reising Semi Autos were issued to Industrial Plant Guards. One in the Gun,and Two Backups ??
Bridgeport28A1
The female portion of the two cell pouch pictured in this thread. The female portions of US five cell XX magazine pouch, three cell USMC XXX pouch, USMC .45 2 cell pouch and a L drum pouch. Not necessarily in the proper order.  In my opinion the female portion of the lift the dot type fastener does not look like a WW2 US "lift the dot" female hardware.
