My Civilian Transferable M60 E6

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure why I have never posted this here.

I picked up this RIA M60 last year, and recently had it completely rebuilt by Desert Ordnance and had the E6 kit installed on it. I am very pleased with the gun so far, and it's my favorite of all my machine guns right now. Here are a couple pictures of it for you, and a crappy video I made a couple months ago. I hope you enjoy the pictures and video.

Several differences from the E4 kit, but not a ton. Butt stock, grip, safety, and front hand guard to name a few.

It took them 2 weeks to rebuild, refinish, and assemble the parts.

No idea how much the butt stock was. I bought the entire E6 kit for $7500 though.

Beautiful gun as I've said elsewhere. Thanks for the additional details here. Could I ask how your acquired the E6 kit - was it from from Dersert Ordnance as part of rebuild package? LMO is offering an E4 by DO built around a maremount amnesty @55K, but seems a little steep...

Keep those pics and vids rolling in - they are appreciated. Hoping to see new ones on the sten, ppsh, and Thompson...

I have a complete D-kit. By far the best configuration for standing up behind a pedestal and shooting from. I leave off the brass catcher frame/bag. I've had this at the creek in years past. Course I had to take it all apart and find a buttstock when we hung it in the door of the "Loach" so Gunny could shoot it. I also have the same setup for my MG42 which is technically for the MG3, but of course is backwards compatible

Extremely cool! A glimpse into NFA renaissance man's territory IMO - D kit, loach, mg42, Gunny and the Creek all in a brief response to an m60D question. Sounds like that kit is a must for serious shooters...

Michaelkih, nice video and 60E6. I have an E4, and it is certainly my favorite beltfeed. BTW, the most improved feature added by US Ordnance is their belt pawl to go with the E3/E4 top cover. This pawl increase belt pull, but works well with older E3 or E4, non-railed top cover as well, doesn't have to be US Ord. A couple tips if you are not aware: 1) You may want to keep a dummy round at the end of the belt so the bolt doesn't slam foward and cause premature wear on the op rod's caming tower, and 2) keep a stone around to smooth out the op rod cam tower....reallly a weakness in the design, but it still takes a while to ding them. Bolt and op rod - keep plenty of spares; 60 eats them!

Great tip about the "Dummy Round " at the end of the belt- I will use one on each belt from this point forward! Thanks.
