OldFalGuy
I already have one just to make sure I had one, any others will have to be after the ban then I would like several at $200 or so. I am still too clueless to see how to tell it was a WH drum (so is mine and my Thompson) but I couldn't find a C&R when I was looking for one M http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
full auto 45
Easiest way to tell it's a Westy is by the center post. The Westies do not have a hole in the center for greasing the drum. Here's the center for a Bridgeport. Bridgeport "L" drum Here's the center of a West Hurley made drum, this is a "XL" or 39 round drum. The "L" drums centers are the same on the West Hurleys. OldFalGuy
Thanks for the edu-ma ca-tion on the drum differences. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif WOnder why they chose to make the LX drum at all when they could still make 50 and 100's. I can kinda see how the XL might work better/easier with only one "row" to turn. Mark
Ron A
This drum is up to $610. and still has not met the reserve - a short wait and the bidders can buy at least 3 drums from Kahr, just like the WH drum for the same money. It makes you wonder how many bidding dont know its a WH drum.
OldFalGuy
Ron A- Nail on the head I wonder who , if we were to obtain several drums , after the ban, would be able to modify them with the other (what's it called?) center spindle with the hole in it like the old style good drums had??? Heck, the Ebayers evidently have'nt see the one for sale at $550 shipped on another board, I passed, I will be patient- grrrrr Mark
Ron A
I have drilled my WH 50 rd drums and converted the key to the old style. Its not that hard - what you will do when you are looking for something to do...
Z3BigDaddy
Along with less than sterling feedback he states... "The item you are bidding on was found in a box that was labeled the same as the title above. I am not responsible for any misidentification of an item. That is why I post photos and answer questions. If the identification is wrong please let me know so that I may change it." Basically stating it is misidentified but since he doesn't know, it's not his fault???? Add to that it is at $710 w/three days to go and has not hit reserve.... I've been trying to sell my 39 rounder for 3 bills with no takers yet.... Maybe I need to raise my price a bit.....
Norm
Z3, Just put the 39 rounder on eBay and just simply say "I don't know what this is. It says Auto-Ord Corp on it." The fools will come out of the wood work to buy it. Norm
Walter63a
Norm, you know what they say about fools, 'they are soon separated from their money.' http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Also, a corollary to that would be: Some people have more money than sense! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter
