tvrc18
I saw a model 1927 I think it was with a Broadhead armory conversion to full auto. Has anyone heard or seen such a conversion? He says it is a great shooter and can be installed on another semi if needed.
Bill in VA
Yup. It's actually more like a lightning link for an AR15...a piece of sheet metal that replaces the "Z" shaped striker and the "hammer" the round steel pellet inside the bolt. LIONHART
There are two Forum Members here that have them. Also, there was a Dude on Sturmgewehr that was selling 80% Finished Pins for $25.00...
Norm
I have one of these that is being installed in a 27A1 right now. Like all transferable machine guns, they started life before the May 19, 1986 dead line. There were only about ten of them put on the NFA registry. Bill in VA, you are right; it is just a piece of sheet metal, but it is not a a lightening link. It is acually a replacement firing pin that, when installed, does not float. It remains fixed in the bolt, so that when the gun is cocked, the bolt is held open. In short, it converts the 27A1 into an open bolt "fixed firing pin" gun. After the firing pin is installed, remove the disconector and...POOF...full auto-auto only 27A1! They are actually made very crudely. I have a photo, but don't know how to post it. If anyone wants a picture of it, email me. I am having mine installed by a pro (PK) so that it will fit and function correctly. It will also be selectfire. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif I'll try to post pics when it is done! Z3BigDaddy
Norm was the one who turned me on to the firing pin... I bought the last one from Nick in Texas.... Mine is sitting in an 27 A5 pistol right now... My plan is to setup the pin to run in three different configurations... I have all the guns just have to get the sbr's thru. Click on the pic to go to Nick's website if you want to to see the pin..... http://www.westernfirearms.com/0/wfc/thompson/buttons/11/100.jpg
Z3BigDaddy
QUOTE (LIONHART @ Dec 12 2004, 09:26 PM) There are two Forum Members here that have them. Also, there was a Dude on Sturmgewehr that was selling 80% Finished Pins for $25.00... What a joke btw.... Wonder how you tell the difference, the one I paid several thousands of dollars for looks like it was made in a Jr High shop class.... And trust me they ain't 100% done even when you pay the big bucks, you have to do some grinding and polishing just to get them in the bolt.... Billy F
I have 3 of them. 2 are installed in 27's. Both run fine. Your friend is right they can be moved from gun to gun just keep in mind the SBR rules.

M27 converted Thompson for sale Asking price $9,000 upfront or $9,600 on a %50 now, %50 at transfer deal. Hey Z3 and Billly F! Scoobie1
Forgive my ignorance, but if none of these things can be made (legally) after '86, what is the point of selling an 80% finished pin today?
Merry Ploughboy
Post-sample gun that a pd could switch back to only semi- with an easy transfer of parts? Only a guess. PM
Scoobie1
Thanks Phil http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I would like to know if the ATF ever turns up anything on one of these receivers or pins being finished illegally. I'm sure that it happens, I just wonder who actually gets caught with them.
