Recommended Posts

I just recently got the back half of a Thompson 1928a1 that is stamped on the left side by the sight FAET3 and it looks like a crown is stamped offer that, does anyone know what it means, it doesn't look like a British crown, does anyone know what it means, is it lend lease?

Possibly Italian Terni Arsenal rebuild marking.

FAET stands for Fabbrica D'Armi Dell 'Esercito Di Terni. The FAET name was used from 1967-78, before that it was called FAT - Fabbrica D'Armi Di Terni.

I can't make out the crown in your pic, however I've seen a crown on Italian made Bayonets from the early 1960's.

Below is a BM59 Magazine Charger Guide with FAET marking.

I agree with the FEAT description, but why would an Italian Arsenal be rebuilding a Thompson?
