The breech oiler was deleted with the deletion of the Blish lock in the M1 and M1A1 versions of the Thompson. The Blish lock likes to be kept very oily. I use Colt T-6 grease (which appears to be nothing more than overpriced thin white grease) on the inside of the receiver and on the outside of the bolt of my M1A1. Seems to work okay. May even slow the rate of fire a tad. I've never timed it. Others may have other experiences and opinions. Individual results may vary. And so on. Rock on! PK. Posted July 31, 2004 Report Share Posted July 31, 2004 The main purpose of the breech oiler for 21/28 models was to oil the lock. There is no lock in a 27a1, and the receiver has not been machined in such a way as to accept it, in any event.
