OldFalGuy
Well I met up with my dealer at a friend's range to try out the WH I bought last month. I had bought a dozen 30's from either Cheaper than Dirt or Sportsman's Guide First mag ran flawlessly, second bang jam-rack shake same thing http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif Third mag ran them all Now you all know what was going on but I was really straching my head being a Thompson newbie. Anyone need a semi auto mag? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Hard to tell right off if round or a little bit oval ain't it?? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif At least I have a WH that will run without changing any parts right off the bat so at least that is something to be happy about. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
The1930sRust
Glad to hear it! How does it dump a drum? Still, there are a few very important parts that may need replacing: actuator (if cast) and the dreaded WH pilot guide.
wildwilly2002
Be sure to mark good mags! I learned that early on. you will find the drums work better than the mags do. Of course the cost of the drums are outragious! The XX mages work pretty good even if hole is a little oval. The XXX mags are of couse a bit heavyer. If you hold up on them while shooting they work, but what a pain and who wants to do that! Sounds like your gun works good though and thats great! WH guns are sweet despite what some my say. They just require a little extra tweaking, which is part of the fun. Hunting for deals on parts on the internet is even fun. Best of luck!
JimFromFL
If possible, post a picture of the bad mags. If the holes don't look too bad, I am sure someone on the board will buy it.
OldFalGuy
Jim, They don't look bad at all-its hard as heck to even tell its NOT perfectly round. I will try all of them I have and see how many I have that "appear" to be not good for this particuliar WH. Didn't have a chance to run a drum, maybe next time around. May need help posting a mag pick-never learned to do it on the web. I have one COlt 21 and several Savage acuators plus one cast unit in addition to2 one piece pilot buffers- I will tinker with it more when its in my possession.
