Hossbreed45
While servicing my TM1, looking for possible reasons for all the misfeeds yesterday, I saw a flat or bent area of the bolt face at about the 7 o'clock position. I've attached a photo to show what I'm speaking of. Is this a defect from the factory or is this the normal configuration of the bolt face? No, I didn't drop the bolt - LOL. Here's a better photo: Edited January 19, 2019 by Hossbreed45
Oldtrooper
This is not uncommon when your gun experiences a lot of misfeeds ... Mine did the same thing, and there have been other posts regarding the same problem. I was able to round my bolt back out, and since my misfeed issues went away I have never had it happen again. Hossbreed45
How did you round out your bolt face?
Oldtrooper
Let me rephrase that ... My son is a custom rifle builder/gunsmith and he rounded it back out ... When he picks up his dogs this afternoon I will ask him and let you know how he did it ...
Adg105200
I can't remember for sure, but I thought some other members here might have had a issue with a bolt(s) that weren't hardened properly. Andrew
95mustang
If the bolt was properly hardened it could withstand a butt load more misfeeds than basically 1 box of ammo Send it back to kahr They'll send you a new oneTell you also want a free mag or two for your trouble Edited January 10, 2019 by 95mustang
Oldtrooper
i turned down a piece of round stock about .075 under the ID of the bolt face, then clamped it down horizontally in the vice with about an inch sticking out for rigidity, seated the bolt face over the mandrel, and leaned into it to hold it in place, and slowly beat out the flat spots and re-rounded it with a small peening hammer. Hossbreed45
It took a few days to hear back from Kahr. They requested that I return the entire firearm to them for repair at their expense. It shipped out last night. I'll keep ya'll posted...
vanvock
It took 2 trips for mine. The first time it just went to the part swappers bench & I don't think they bothered to test it. It took a second go-round to actually get corrected. Good luck with yours.
