Nice place, in general, but some overzealous Jr. night manager caused a ruckus by calling the coppers and sending us to our rooms when we were quietly enjoying a few beverages in the lobby. So we said this year we would not stay there again. I would like to know where we might end up. Gotta make reservations soon. The prices are quite a bit higher than the Cherry Valley Lodge but last year's shenanigans in the lobby was enough for me to seek a change. I will see how things go at the Cherry Valley this year and may go back in future years. Unfortunately, the Buxton Inn, across the street from the Granville Inn, has been renovated and the prices are now in line with the Granville Inn. I will be in Granville on Thursday afternoon! Kocapuff1 Posted April 13, 2016 Report Share Posted April 13, 2016 TD, You can well represent the group that stayed last year, by maybe calling and speaking to the general manager of Cherry Valley Lodge for us and maybe see that you could get an apology from them and retify the situation? The hotel at least has large meeting areas and was easy access for everyone. It might be worth the time. I was planning on staying there this year. I was chosen last year to be the 'go between' with the LEO who responded and after a short discussion no enforcement action was taken or needed. I believe the "over zealous" new night manager was just that. It didn't help that a maintenance man was sent to to address the group about the Lodge's concerns. It actually made things worse, lots worse. I doubt there will be a similar response to our gathering in the lobby this year, but if we do, it's time to move. I do like GiantPanda4's idea of giving Allison's Pub a try. I'm pretty sure they won't allow us to bring our own coolers though. hntrdarren Posted May 26, 2016 Report Share Posted May 26, 2016 I stayed at the CVL last year and was very disappointed . The air conditioner was out on the first room they gave me and after a 4 hour wait to get another room my toilet leaked all over the floor when flushed. Also my room was so damp that I kept my clothing in my car to stay dry and I couldn't adjust the AC in my second room. I'm planning on staying at the Hampton this year.
