Lancer
I just faxed into ATF a FOIA request on my Bridgeport 28ac. Does anyone know about how long it takes for ATF to respond? BTW, thanks to philasteen for posting a copy of his letter on one of the other boards.

philasteen
I'm glad the letter was a help. Please let me know if ATF gives you any issues with processing it - they have been continually looking for excuses to knock out requests on technicalities. amafrank
Mine took a couple months but I got every registration and change of status from the amnesty to the present. Names of transferors and ee's were blacked out of course but I found who had done the deactivation and reactivation as well as the number of times transferred since then. I didn't fax the letter in and may try that on the next one. Who and where does it get faxed to....??? Good luck with your info. Frank

leid
Hi guys, My FOIA requests have taken about 3 weeks each with the same results as Frank. I have seen in writing that the FOIA mandates that you be supplied with the info within 30 days of filling all the squares for the request. The oldest registration on any of my NFAs was received by the Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service on September 24, 1934 and approved October 01, 1934. Interesting stuff!
