michaelkih
What is the typical value of a nice original condition 1911 from 1913 with holster wear? Is $4000 around the realm of reality. I just bought two 1918 1911s and I now want to get an even earlier one. I appreciate the help everyone!

JimB
Depends on who & where really Internet prices have became totally insane on these thingsthat said recently a local buddy answered an ad in our local free shopper newspaperEnded up with a very clean Colt 1911, holster, belt with pouch with two spare half tone mags. Paid the asking price of $800I ended up going back there with him, I bought a foot locker with slightly mildewed uniforms, a dough boy helmet, mess kit and a LF&C trench knifeasked what he needed ?$100 out the door, it was all great grandads gear. Came with all his paperwork, decorations, etc. Told me if he couldn't get a hundred he was just going to haul the contents to the landfill and repaint the trunk as a toy box for the kids Just saying valuations are all over the boardUp here it's not uncommon to run across Great War 1911s in the $1500 to $2500 rangeI know of 3 of them within 30 miles of me, family bring backs from WWII prefer that families hold on to these items. One buddy occasionaly goes broke, offers me his which is pristine. I tell him keep it back, here's a few hundred...you really should pass this on brother. He pays me back always so no big deal. He has a boy who is career Army now. That belongs with him. Online you are looking in the 3K+ range for decent early 1911s
