Nick Iannamico
Sorry about the quality... It was from an analog camera and I have no idea how to get the quality any better.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif
mp40
Nick, what brand is the camera?
Nick Iannamico
It is a Sony video camera.. uses those little 8mm cassette things.. I think the quality is lost going from analog to digital? Or the quality could of been lost when the person who transfered did it and used crappy settings to save space? It looks good on the TV, just not on the computer.... Any ideas on what equiptment to use to make it better? I'd like to get a digital video camera, just not in the budget right now. mp40
Nick, i use an Sony ccd-TRV 16 video 8, 8mm "handy-cam" myself, it makes some good videos for my website, i use a "quick tv" capture card and then the windows movie maker, to edit/compile the video. I usually choose the best quality video capture setting that the windows movie maker offers when the video really counts. what program do you use? Nick Iannamico
Mark the Sony I have is the CCD-TR818 Hi8.. It is a nice little "HandyCam" http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif I tried using the "Dazzle" USB video converter thing... Apparently the hardware is decent enough, it is their software that is horrible.. for the two clips that I posted they were actually a part of a larger file that I cut the clips from... I used the built in Movie Maker that is in Windows XP Pro to do that. The original larger clip was made using Studio 8 from Pinnacle I believe, a friend did it for me since I couldn't get the dazzle stuff to work... I've never heard of the quick tv piece that you have, any idea where to get it? I usually just see the stuff from Dazzle or Pinnacle..

Nick Iannamico
Not sure why you'd want to watch TV on you computer? I have a 36 inch TV and 21 inch monitor http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
